There is no schedule for the next Quantum Entanglement Exchange at this time.

GOSSAN’S HANDBOOK

You must sign up by submitting the Google Form.
You must provide your Tumblr user name in your sign-up, you may also provide a discord username for easy communication with the mod team.
Everyone who signs up for a gift must also create a fan work.
Sign-ups containing non-prompts such as “anything” or “Outer Wilds” will be deleted.
For fics the word count must be at least 1,000 words.
For art the piece must have shading and/or flats.
When making your submission you must adhere to the preferences of your recipient.
In accordance with Tumblr Guidelines, NSFW content is not permitted.
You cannot use AI to create your submissions.
All submissions must be newly created posts and not reposts of old ideas.
Do not talk to your recipient about your gift. If you have a question for your recipient the mods would be happy to pass it along.
Do not discuss your submission in the event discord server. These are meant to be a surprise!
If something comes up and you can no longer participate let a mod know as soon as possible, so that we may assign a pinch hitter.
If a participant does not respond to a check-in message from a mod within two days of a mod reaching out we will assume you are dropping out and assign a pinch hitter to your prompt.
For a check-in to be considered complete you must show a mod that you have met completion bench marks per check-in guidelines provided in the Lost Travelers Guide.
Submissions to the event must be made during the Submission Period or Late Submission Period.
Submissions will be made by posting to your own blog and mentioning the blog like so “@outerwildsevents” in the body of your post.
Submissions must be appropriately tagged for triggers/spoilers/etc.
All Submissions must have titles. Untitled works will be titled by a mod. (Mod Muse reserves the right to title every unnamed work “A Terrible Fate”.)

Q: What is an Exchange?

An exchange is a type of fan challenge in which participants create fan works to give to one another. It's kind of like a Secret Santa for fan works! Participants will submit prompts. The mods will match participants for exchanging gifts. All gifts will be posted to the blog so everyone can see!

Q: How do I sign-up for this event?

By filling out the Google Form here!

Q: Do I have to make something to participate?

Yes. The whole point is the spirit of giving, right?

Q: Do I have to make art for this?

Traveler, we aren’t all artists and that’s a good thing! You can respond in any medium you want, art, fic, music, or anything else you can think of is fine! Just put what mediums you might work with in your sign up form.

Q: What if I don't have a Tumblr account?

Then how are you planning to post? You might want to get with a mod on that.

Q: What if I don't have a Discord account?

That’s fine. Just make sure your messages are open on Tumblr so we can message you if we have questions about your proposed topic. If you do have a Discord account, you can join our server here for bonus shenanigans.

Q: Can I collaborate with someone else in this event?

That’s going to get real confusing real fast. We’re going to leave the Travel Buddy Search Channel alone for this event.

Q: Assignments went out and I haven’t gotten one?

We do delete requests that are against Gossan’s Handbook. However, if your request was within the rules, it is possible that it was missed. You can always send in an ask, though we won’t be able to help much if it’s anonymous. You can also ask in the ask-the-mods channel on the server.

Q: I have a burning question for my recipient and it'd be really easy for me to just ask-?

And ruin the surprise? If you have a question just DM a mod and we'll get the information for you!

Q: How will check-in’s work?

The mods will send out messages to participants on December 26 and January 9. We will ask that participants send proof of progress at each time. Works should be 50% complete by the first check-in and 95% complete by the final check-in. We will be asking for proof of progress during check-in’s.

Q: I'm ready to submit! When can I do that?

During the submission period from January 16 - January 22

Q: Wait, the event starts on Friday, again?!?

Yeah. During the History and Science Fair it made things easier on the mods ends and we thought it seemed to work well for participants. So, we’re doing it again!

Q: Can I just give my recipient their gift by DM?

No can do. All participating assignments will be posted to the blog so that everyone can enjoy them!

Q: Okay then. How do I submit?

When you're ready to post, just post on your blog and “@” the event blog somewhere in the post. We will reblog posts in the order they were received.

Q: Do I have to tag my works for triggers?

Yes. Is that not just normal courtesy?

Q: Are spoilers okay here?

Did they not cover that in training? Traveler, spoilers are fine as long as you tag for it.

Q: I have another question.

That’s why there’s an ask button and/ or Discord server, Traveler.
